Moses Was A Multiple Survivor Of Mass Murders — Part 1

Daniel O'Neil Uncategorized 0 0

In this blog we have often investigated how Psalm 91 tells the story of an eagle, figuratively the Holy Spirit, raises its young.  Psalm 91 is thus a story of the Holy Spirit training believers.

Today we begin a series of articles on how the Holy Spirit causes believers to triumph over forces of death and destruction.  Specifically we look at how Moses, the most likely author of Psalm 91, escaped mass murders on several occasions.

Psalm 91:5-7 tells us,…..

Eagles In The Bible — Part 6

Daniel O'Neil Uncategorized 0 0

For this installment of Eagles in the Bible, I want to concentrate on the Rapture of the Saints.

Psalm 91:14 is God speaking about a believer, and says, “Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name” (NASB).

The psalm can be seen as God the Holy Spirit, in the figure of a mighty eagle, training and rescuing believers.  This verse seems to speak of the…..

Eagles In The Bible — Part 5

Daniel O'Neil Uncategorized 0 0

Our next installment of Eagles in the Bible involves the fact that one of the four faces of the living creatures surrounding the throne of God is the face of an eagle.

Revelation 4:7 tells us, “The first creature was like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third creature had a face like that of a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying eagle” (NASB).

This description matches closely with the details given…..

Eagles In The Bible — Part 4

Daniel O'Neil Uncategorized 5 0

Today we leave the Old Testament and address a use of eagles as symbols in the teaching of Jesus.

Jesus told two parables involving eagles, one in Matthew 24:26-28, and another in Luke 17:30-37. The key portions of the two parables compare as follows:

“For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together” (Matt. 24:28 KJV).

“Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together” (Luke 17:37).

The parable in Matthew discusses eagles being gathered…..

Eagles In The Bible — Part 3

Last week we looked at how eagles are used in the Bible as symbols of power and speed, as well as being emblems of intimacy with God

This week we want to look at some of these same attributes, but in a way that relates them to God’s judgment.

Because of how eagles soar, they are capable of reaching great heights, often rising to ten thousand feet or more above sea level.  At the same time, eagles often visit rivers,…..

Eagles In The Bible — Part 2

Daniel O'Neil Uncategorized 0 0

Last week we discussed eagles in the first five books of the bible.  This week we discuss their use in the prophets and the poetic books.

Eagles provide beautiful analogies of power, strength, loftiness and fierceness.  Therefore God Himself employs them as poetic images when He speaks through His chosen human authors.

In the Second Book of Samuel, the author tells us of the mighty Israelite warriors Saul and Jonathan, “They were swifter than eagles” (2 Sam. 1:23 NIV).  A…..

Eagles In The Bible

The use of the eagle as a symbol in the Bible begins with Moses, who would have had an acquaintance with a great many eagles, ranging from Africa, where he fought battles as an Egyptian general, to the vicinity of modern day Jordan and Saudi Arabia, where he ended his time on earth.

While in Egypt and during the wilderness journey of forty years, Moses would have been around the steppe eagle, the African black eagle, the imperial eagle and…..

Prophetic Word — Satnd Upon the Rock with the Sun at Your Back!!

Daniel O'Neil Uncategorized 0 0

Let’s put aside the blogging on eagles as a type of the Holy Spirit and discuss some prophetic words that are for this very hour.  In our church in Pittsburgh, the Holy Spirit is bringing forth one word after another telling us to “Stand!”

The Lord is saying,

“Stand fast in what I have called you to do!  Don’t look at circumstances, but be obedient to me! Moses began standing in a rocky gorge (see Exodus 14:1-4, where  Pi Hahiroth…..

Moses and the Winds of God

Daniel O'Neil Uncategorized 0 0

In recent weeks we have been exploring how eagles know the winds.  This can be seen as an analogy of the believer knowing the Spirit of God, for eagles can represent the Holy Spirit, and young eagles can represent the believer being trained by the Spirit.  A young eagle follows steadfastly in the flight paths of its parents, learning the ways of the wind.

Soaring in the Life of Moses

     As a disciple of Heaven’s Eagle, Moses…..

Intimate Knowledge Of The Wind Gives Us More Respect For An Eagle And For The Holy Spirit

Daniel O'Neil Uncategorized 0 0

Today, we continue our thoughts from last week’s blog concerning how “Eagles Know the Wind As Christians Know the Spirit.”  In that blog, we discussed how the Sun, symbolic of the Son of God, generates the winds of earth, and how these winds emulate the way the Spirit of God responds to the reactions of people to the person of Jesus.

Eagles have an intimate relationship to wind, that appears effortless and simple natural due to the giftedness and instinctive…..
